I don’t know about you, but the shorter my bedtime routine is, the better.
I like to keep my steps at a minimal, but even my laziest self understands the importance of removing my makeup at night. Not only does leaving your makeup on though the night stain your pillow, but it can wreak havoc on your skin.
Here are the three steps I use to remove every ounce of makeup from my face without causing too much drying.

1. Almond Oil: Take a dime size amount of almond oil, I get mine at GNC, and massage it onto your skin in circular motions. I even use this to rub off my eye makeup and mascara, using sweeping downward motions. I do this for about 15 – 30 seconds, to break everything down. Note: You will look like a melted barbie at the end of this process.
I know putting oil on your skin sounds scary, but almond oil is a very dry oil, whatever that means scientifically, and will not clog your pores. Also, it’s only on your face for about 1 minute.
2. Makeup remover wipes: I use whatever is on sale or I have a coupon for- most are the same. My favorites are Neutrogena & Elf. The Almay ones shown above are really soft. I use these to remove the excess almond oil. At this point, most of the makeup should be off of your face.
*HH Tip: Keep the wipes in your drawer upside down so the moisture in the pack always sinks to the bottom, which will be the newest wipe in your pack.
3. Face Wash: I’ve been loving the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser (you can find it at CVS). I also love the Clinique Foaming Cleanser for sensitive skin, but it never really goes on sale, which I don’t love. I pump a nickel size amount into my fingers, lather and use circular motions to really take the remaining residue off. Pat dry with a towel.
There you have it! This process will remove every ounce of make-up on your face without feeling like your skin is going to crack off.
*Note to readers: most nights I can only make it to step two.
Happy Wednesday!
