As we are approaching the final week of summer on the East Coast, I’m giving you one final attempt to pack your beach bag correctly.
Listed below are the items you will never catch me without while catching some rays down the Jersey shore.

1. Beach Towel – Duh. I get most of mine at either Marshall’s or Nordstrom Rack. Marshall’s is where I got the one in the picture above. All of my Lacoste towels are from Nordstrom Rack and were around $20.
2. Another beach towel or a blanket to lay on the sand or on your chair – The blanket above is technically a chic Turkish Towel my friend got me. I love these things because they are so lightweight. You can find one as equally as chic asNordstrom here.
3. Magazine (s) – Usually I like going for an InTouch, a magazine of substance anda real page turner on my kindle, but it was 90 degrees during the photo shoot above and I didn’t have time for all that.
4. Baby Wipes – You’re going to spill something, or your neck is going to feel really sweaty, or you’re going have that awful sticky feeling after applying sunscreen and all of that is not great so be the prepared friend and pack them.
5. Lip Balm – I either pack an SPF 30+ sunscreen stick and a lip balm, or a lip balm that has a SPF 30+ because burnt lips are not cute and or fun.
6. SPF 30+ Lotion – All day I like to apply and reapply a high level SPF on my nose, forehead, tops of my knees and the back of my neck.
7. SPF 15+ Spray – I spray myself with SPF 15 or 30, depending on if I have a base tan, before I even get to the beach when I’m putting on my bathing suit. I then do a quick spray again when I get there on the tops of my feet and shoulders and reapply every couple of hours. Since doing this, I rarely get burnt.
8. (2) Gallon Size Freezer Bags – I put my sunscreens and baby wipes in one and have a back up for either trash throughout the day or incase something spills in the original one.
9. Cosmetic Case or Wristlet – I keep a small amount of cash, a lip balm and my iPhone here. The case above was a bag I got from Ipsy and I love it.
10. 24 Oz. Tervis Tumbler with a Lid – I keep a 24 ounce Tervis Tumbler with a lid that I fill with ice that morning. The lid keeps sand from getting in your drink and the double wall of the tumbler keeps your drinks pretty cold.
There you have it! My beach bag essentials for the summer.
What are your go to beach essentials? I would love to hear!
